Male+Hair+Trends

The popularity of several male hair styles has increased significantly. Men are starting to take as much care for their hair as the ladies. It has become the norm for many males in our school to gel their hair and to carry a comb for on-the-go styling. Terms like undercut, flow, and fade have become very common vocabulary for such hair enthusiast. Celebrities like Justin Timberlake, David Beckham and Justin Bieber have influenced many men to see their hair as more of a important part of their style. Recently, there are three more drastic styles that men have started to wear.

One style is the undercut. This style consists of hair shaved at a one or two clipper length evenly on the sides and back of the person’s head. The hair not shaved is then grown long and slicked back or to the side with gel or pomade. The most obvious example of the style in pop culture is Brad Pitt’s character in the 2014 film “Fury”. The style has a very retro feel and it makes the wearer seem distinguished as well as edgy. Celebrities like G Eazy, Brad Pitt and Justin Timberlake have been known to wear their hair in this style.

Another element that has been combined with the undercut is going platinum blonde. This style causes the wearer’s hair to seem almost silver. It is very stylish when combined with the undercut if the shaved sides are kept dark. One final style is the top or otherwise known as the man bun. This look can also be combined with the undercut. But be aware that long locks will be needed to accomplish this. The hairstyle consists of a small bun on the back of a males head.

All of these styles are very popular and modern, meaning the time of boring male hair is over.
