The girls softball team had their first game of the season on Wednesday, March 14. Unfortunately, they lost against Cary Grove 14-6. Luckily, since it is the beginning of the season, they know what they need to work on for the rest of their season.

With practice and hard work from every player on the team, they will work hard and be successful this season. Freshman Hailey Webb has an optimistic view about her teammates and this upcoming season.

“We have a lot of potential on the team and once we learn how each other play and get closer, we will work better together,” Webb said.

The Sequoits had started off slow, but really got their bats going in the fifth inning. Junior Megan Lawrence helped the team out with a couple of good hits to further advance the runners on base, putting the team in a good scoring position.

Senior Katie Sorensen sees a couple different spots where she and her team could use a little improvement.

“I think the team can improve on our bats and work on communicating on defense,” Sorensen said.

Come support the girls at their next game on Friday, March 16 at Warren Township High School at 4:30PM.
