The Antioch Sequoits football team pulled off a close win on Friday, October 13 against the North Chicago Warhawks. Sophomore TreShawn Watson had two interceptions in the game, one of which ended up leading to the first Sequoit touchdown of the night. In the first quarter, it appeared that the Warhawks would win when they scored within the first couple of minutes of the game, but the Sequoits managed to pull off a win.

The game came down to the wire though, with junior Benjamin Nauman scoring the final Sequoits touchdown. Soon after, the Warhawks made a push down the field and scored a touchdown to bring the game to a score of 21-20 with the Sequoits in the lead. North Chicago attempted a two-point conversion to win the game, but failed and Antioch came out with the win.

“Both teams played very well, and I saw a lot of skill from both teams on the field,” junior Cole Niemi said. “North Chicago showed up to play, and we didn’t so it almost resulted in our first loss of the season.”

This Friday, October 20, the Sequoits will take on the Grayslake North Knights at Grayslake North High School. Antioch will try to extend their undefeated season for another game.
