There are plenty of holiday movies that people watch every year, but nothing can beat these classics.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas – This Dr. Seuss classic tells the story of a green monster whose heart was too small to love. As Christmas comes around he resents the holiday, but his feelings begin to change as his heart begins to grow. This movie is a heartwarming tale that should be watched every holiday season.

A Christmas Carol – Released in 2009, this movie quickly became a holiday hit. This movie tells the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, a bitter old man who hates Christmas. Three ghosts take him on a journey through his past, present and future to try and transform his bitterness into something more sweet.

Polar Express – “All aboard!” Join the children on the Polar Express as it makes its journey to the North Pole to meet Santa. The story mainly follows a little boy who is losing his faith in Santa. Just when he begins to think Santa doesn’t exist, the Polar Express shows up and takes him on a journey to find the truth.

Elf – This comedy follows Buddy the elf, who isn’t really an elf. He always felt that he didn’t fit in, so he sets out on a journey to find his real dad in New York. Buddy’s story of finding where he belongs is quite the tale.

A Charlie Brown Christmas- This classic is a staple of holiday movies for many. Only 30 minutes long, this short movie is an enjoyable tale of Charlie and the rest of the Peanuts gang. This movie is great to watch, especially if one needs a jump-start to the holiday season. This film is sophomore Kaylee Griffin’s favorite holiday movie.

“I enjoy all of the Charlie Brown movies,” Griffin said. “It’s a humorous movie, but I really like the cartoons of [the characters].”
