Homecoming week offers an abundance of activities for students, ranging from Powder-Puff Football to the Homecoming Dance on Saturday. One of the many extracurricular activities that takes place each year is the dodgeball tournament.National Honors Society at ACHS sponsors a dodgeball tournament to raise funds. Hosted by the ACHS National Honor Society (NHS), eight teams showed up ready to participate the evening of Monday, September 12th.

This year’s winning team consisted of Alex Unekis, Tim Otter, Thomas Boeh, Nat Baldwin and Nick Sheren, the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubemen.

“It was a lot of fun and I am very happy that we won,” Junior Nat Baldwin said.   “This is one of my favorite events of Homecoming week.”

Another team that came close snatching the win was Dodgey Style, consisting of Zach Tokarczyk, Patrick Coleman, Brandon Gallimore, Joe Karolewicz and Jared DeBoer. Each member of the team wore a shirt that said “Alex Larson” on it and colored their hair orange in order to match the natural hair color of Larson. In one of the most unique uniform choices of them all, Dodgey Style took third place in the tournament.

“While I’m in my second year helping out for the tournament, I think that it is a great way to raise funds for the club while also having a lot of fun,” Senior Justin Prinn said.

The competition was able to run successfully due to the NHS members such as Prinn who volunteered in running the event from start to finish. Many students and staff enjoyed the game, whether participating or watching, and are excited for the future of the annual tournament.
