The boys soccer team played against the Deerfield Warriors on October 2 down at their home stadium, but unfortunately came up short with a final score of 3-0. The boys worked hard during the first half and had chances at the scoring but it was not enough. Deerfield scored a late goal in the first half allowing them to be up 2-0 at halftime. Junior forward Alex Keeler thought the Sequoits had let the Warriors control the tempo of the game after the goal.

“Once they scored, we let it affect our morale a bit too much, and that affected our playing too much,” Keeler said.

The team kept their defensive pressure up and fought hard until the end. Deerfield was able to find the holes in the net more than the Sequoits were able to. The Warriors scoring two more times led to them having a 3-0 lead for most of the half. Keeler still has high hopes for the rest of the season as they take it game by game, yet they boys still have some things to work on.

“We are trying to use each game to tackle something new to improve on, and hopefully, if it all comes together, we can bring home another regional title,” Keeler said.
