The Antioch boy’s varsity golf team held an invitational at their home course against 13 other teams on Saturday, September 9. Throughout the day, the boys encountered tough obstacles while they were playing all 18 holes. However, they kept their morale up and pushed through.

“We tried our best to put up some low scores,” junior Nick Gagman said. “We may have not taken first but we will definitely not be last.”

Most of the team pulled in a range of scores in the 40s for both the front and back nine. As a team, they finished with a score of 344 strokes, putting them in a decent place compared to some of the other teams.

“I tried my best but there were still some holes that I could have two putted but ended up three putting,” Gagman said.

The Sequoits placed 6 out of 14 teams overall, placing them right in the middle of all the schools who attended. Tony Sertic individually placed 14 overall with a total score of 83 strokes. Also, Alex Riedel individually placed 16 overall with a total score of 83 strokes as well.

The next boy’s varsity golf team is on September 11, where they will be taking on Lake Forest Academy.
