On Tuesday August 29, the boys varsity golf team held a match against Grayslake Central hoping to pull out a win for the team. Many of the athletes were ready to try their best and personally improve skills they have been working on for the past few matches.

“I hope that we win today because we are going up against a really competitive team,” junior Nick Gagman said. “I want to focus on keeping my driver going straight.”

One of the goals from their match today was to get four players to shoot low scores so that the team score would be lower than the score of Grayslake. With this hope in mind, the boys went into the match with a positive attitude and a team victory in mind.

“It is going to be a hard fought battle because the beat us last year at conference but we are ready for them this time,” junior Alex Riedel said.

In the end, the Sequoits lost by 15 strokes making the final score of the match 161-176 in favor of the Rams. However, the boys aren’t giving up because they have their next match on August 30 against Lakes at Midlane Country Club.
