Colleges have many unique offerings that students are unaware of.

When picking a college, students tend to look at academics and dorm life, but there is so much more at colleges. In fact, many colleges have some unique features that seem unexpected, even luxurious at times. Some features may even seem unbelievable.

Many colleges feature recreational pools that seem like something that would be found at a luxury resort. According to Yahoo News, the University of Missouri features a lazy river with an indoor beach, waterfall and grotto. The University of Missouri is one of many colleges that feature a waterpark on campus. Colleges such as Texas Tech have a  waterpark that features a large lazy river, waterslide and tanning terrain. Auburn University has a large pool with rock walls and a 45-person hot tub. Pensacola Christian College has a waterpark that features a surfing simulator.

Waterparks are not the only unique feature colleges have, some offer other interesting recreational options. According to  Massachusetts Institute of Technology features a ball pit for students and multiple movie theaters. Other unique recreational options in U.S colleges include the University of Michigan napping stations in their library and Michigan Technological University has its own ski slope and a mini ski resort. South Dakota State features a dairy bar with 60 flavors of ice cream made with milk from the cows on their campus. The University of Minnesota even has a tunnel students can use to get to classes during the winter.

Some colleges feature amenities that are luxurious. Boston Universities dorms feature large windows and walk-in closets, designed to feel like a luxury resort. According to Insider foodies can enjoy High Point University’s private steakhouse rather than a standard dining hall.
