Different Warm Ups

A warm up is a garment worn during light exercise or training, such as before a game when it is a little colder outside. Warm ups vary throughout several sports. They could consist of just being a shirt to put over a jersey, or could even just be sweatpants and a jacket.

“I think it’s important to have warmups because you want to keep your body warm so that your muscles don’t get tight before a race,” sophomore Noor Abdellatif said.

Soccer

Soccer players usually wear a jacket and sweatpants over their uniforms during their games when the weather is cold. The sweatpants are quite comfortable, they are a little looser up in the thigh area and then tighten up to more of a form fitting down by your calf. On the top they wear a light zip up jacket, for those windier games, or for when it gets a little more chilly as the sun goes away.

Track and Field

These runners wear warm ups that are very similar to the soccer players. Yet the runners will typically wear windbreaker sweatpants, to help them stay a little warmer waiting for their events along the track.

Basketball

Basketball players will normally just wear some type of shirt over their jersey, long sleeved or short sleeved. It is all about what feels most comfortable, while you are warming up in the gym before your game.

Warmups are an important factor to help you prepare for a game.
