With a loss in the Regional Final last season, the girls varsity soccer team looks to start the season with a win over Deerfield. Deerfield is always a good team and the Lady Sequoits look to overcome their loss to them 2-0 last season. This year the girls look to avenge that loss as they play Deerfield to open their season.

Senior captain Lauren Slack said, “I think Tuesday will be a test of our team chemistry and fitness. We have a strong starting 11, so that will benefit us and keep Deerfield on their toes.”

Senior Courtney Coleman said, “We’ve been scrimmaging a lot lately. This helps us find out who fits best in what position that will help us for our game.”

With a young team, the Lady Sequoits are looking to grow as a team for the future. With a Regional Championship as the overall goal, the expectation is to bring it home this year as the girls will be hosting the Regional Championship. Not to get too far ahead of themselves, as they will focus on their game against Deerfield. Good Luck to the Lady Sequoits, Tuesday, March 15.
