Everyone who loves sports, fills out a NCAA basketball tournament bracket in the middle of March. Whether it is picking a favorite college, or choosing the team predicted to win, there will always be upsets. That is why it is, March Madness.

No matter how hard a person tries it is almost impossible to fill out a perfect bracket. From blowouts to buzzer beaters, this year’s tournament brought it all. So far this year, they have had the most buzzer beaters of any tournament. But, just like any other March Madness, there have been plenty of upsets.

With a number ten seed in the final four for the first time in tournament history, Syracuse looks to continue their cinderella story run and win it all.

Junior Logan Weber said, “I feel like Syracuse was overlooked because of their record but people did not look at how tough their schedule was.”

In ESPN’s tournament challenge nearly two thirds of all brackets had Michigan State winning the championship. Senior Brandon Faber was one of these people.

“I had Michigan State winning because they finished the year strong and had one of the best starting five in the nation,” Faber said. “They also had potentially the most well rounded player in Denzel Valentine and a legendary coach in Tom Izzo.”

Yet with all their team experience the Spartans fell short losing in the first round to Middle Tennessee. Just another reason, it is March Madness.
