On September 1, the Antioch varsity girl’s tennis team gained another win after beating the Waukegan Bulldogs in just over one hour. During the match, the Sequoits made sure to give it their all in order to win.

“Although the other team doesn’t have as much experience as us, we are going to help them work hard and learn the rules a bit more,” senior Allie Regalado said.

During the match, the lady Sequoits were hoping to show how they have improved their strategies and communication with each other. Some of the strategies they have been working on include, placement of the ball and getting more power in their swings.

“I want to practice staying more focused during the game along with finishing my swing because that was something I was called out for,” junior Megan Lawrence said.

The match finished with a final score of 4-1, in favor of the Sequoits. They now continue their season with an overall record of 6-5. Their next match is scheduled for September 2, as the team will be competing in the Cary Grove invite.
