The Sequoits pulled out a win against Vernon Hills in a do or die match on Tuesday, Oct. 27 in the third game of the match. Battling throughout the three game match, the girls worked together to finalize their win and will be playing in the Regional championship game Thursday, Oct. 29  against DePaul Prep.

Senior captain Kayla Vazquez felt the team was confident coming into this game.

“We felt really good about it. For the seniors, we did not want this to be our last game which really motivated us to pull out the win,” Vasquez said.

Another senior captain, Emily Quinnett explained how focused the team had to be.

“We were very excited and very focused. We knew we had one job, and we got it done,” Quinnett said.

The intensity is high and the team is set on winning Regionals.

“I’ve never wanted something so much,” Quinnett said. “I’m coming to terms with the fact that this could really be my last high school volleyball game. I am more focused and ready to play my heart out tomorrow.”
