Grayslake North Defeats Varsity Baseball

The Sequoits were defeated by Grayslake North, 6-1, Wednesday night.

After defeating Grayslake North the night before by a lot, the varsity baseball team came out Wednesday night looking to do the same thing, however, this wasn’t the case.

The boys came out to a very slow start. They made simple mistakes on plays that are routine. Antioch came in with a mindset that they could walk over the Knights like the night before, but Grayslake North wanted to get back at them.

“I felt we thought we had it in the bag,” sophomore Kylar Arias said. “In my opinion, we took ourselves out of the game.”

The pitchers for the Sequoits were Caden Davis, Andrew Deboer and Ethan Almaria. One of the biggest plays in the game was when junior catcher Logan Delgado made a triple play by making a diving catch off a bunt, throwing the ball to first and then to second.

“They caught us by surprise,” Delgado said. “A few calls didn’t go our way and we let it get the best of us, but we’re looking to bounce back Friday.”

The final score was 6-1, in favor of Grayslake North. Antioch plays at home on Friday as they look to win the three game stories against the Knights.
