Early February, Kesha claimed that her record producer Dr. Luke had sexually and mentally abused her. However, with little evidence, the judge was forced to keep the contract intact, which was against what Kesha wanted. In the past month and a half, the #FreeKesha movement has gained followers and left the pop singer’s fans all on edge.

On April 4, the victim herself dropped a bomb. She claimed she would be given freedom from her current contract if she would recant the rape statement.

“Got offered my freedom IF i were to lie, I would have to APOLOGIZE publicly and say that I never got raped,” she said on one of her Instagram photos.

Although the court already said that Kesha is free to record without Luke, she still wants justice for herself and others who don’t have a voice. Some ACHS students like freshman Eve Reid side with Kesha in the fight.

“I think it’s really sad,” Reid said. “She’s such an amazing singer, and she doesn’t deserve what happened to her, whether it’s true, or not.”

A statement from Dr. Luke’s representative denied Kesha’s claim that the record company asked her to retract her accusations in exchange for release from her contract.
