Senior Captain Danny Brito receives a yellow card in the first half of the boys sectional loss.

The boys varsity soccer team played an intense sectional semi-final game against Carmel Catholic High School on Tuesday, Oct. 27, but unfortunately lost 2-1, ending the season for the Sequoits.

Despite the strong performance shown by the Sequoits, the boys were not quite able to advance to the sectional final. The adverse weather conditions made this game particularly difficult for the Sequoits, as they battled game-changing winds and rain. In the end, the Sequoits were unable to come out victorious.

“I feel that our performance was all that we could have given– our whole team left it all on the field during the game,” said sophomore RJ Vasquez. “Although this season is over, it was much better than anyone would have expected, and we had a really hard working group and I believe that’s what got us this far.”

With this game marking the end to the boys soccer season, the boys are sad to see it end but nonetheless proud of every game of the year.

“I am very proud of this team and what we have accomplished,” said senior captain Danny Brito. “It’s heartbreaking that this is my final soccer game ever, but I hope my leadership and image left a positive note for next year’s team.”
