See You At the Pole

Praying for a safe school year.

Several students and staff gathered around the flag pole outside of Antioch Community High School on a brisk morning Wednesday, Sept. 24.

Seniors Collin Prather and Heather Beckman lead the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in group prayers. The FCA prayed for a safe and successful upcoming school year among other things.

“They pray for the school, the pray for the students, they pray for our country,” said deans’s secretary Patti Fluger. “The group has increased every year since I’ve been involved. The first year it was just a handful of kids and now there’s at least 20 kids each time. It’s very encouraging to see.”

Madelynn Soberano is a fourth-year teacher at Antioch Community High School. She is a 2016 ACHS alumna and the previous News Editor and Digital Director of the Tom Tom. She graduated from Illinois State University in 2020 and majored in English Education. She has Disney adult tendencies but is not a Disney adult. She highly enjoys fall and cheesy gordita crunches from Taco Bell. Soberano is excited for the upcoming school year and being back with the Tom Tom staff.
