Starter packs are the newest hit on Twitter. What exactly is this new trend that seems to be taking over social media? A starter pack is a couple pictures of different items put together to describe a certain person, group of people or an idea of some sort. No one really knows who started the trend, but it is now blowing up Twitter. From famous people to the average joe, people are creating a starter pack for everything and everyone.

Starter packs are mostly based off of stereotypes. It’s all about coming up with an idea and thinking of a couple items that describe that idea. Whether it is describing a friend or a stereotype, a starter pack can be created for just about anything. However, starter packs can be hurtful to some people, especially when they describe a stereotype. The starter packs aren’t meant to hurt other’s feelings; they are really made to try and make people laugh. In some cases, this may not be true, and can hurt the feelings of others who see them. Starter packs are really just meant to be a fun, entertaining new trend for teens to use on Twitter.

The trend is so popular that starter pack Twitter accounts are popping up all over. @ItsStarterPack, @TheStartrPack and @OMGStarterPack are some of the most popular accounts. This new trend seems to be unescapable; everyone seems to be making a starter pack for a friend.

Antioch Community High School junior Kyle Gofron said, “[Starter packs] are annoying and pointless.”

So, maybe starter packs are beginning to get old, but no worries, Twitter users. A new trend will pop up soon enough. From animals with random objects on there heads to Alex from Target to starter packs, the Twitter world is always changing.
