Starting Off Strong

The girls track team had a blast at their first outdoor meet of the season.

    The lady sequoits had their first outdoor meet of the year, and it could not have gone any better. Sophomore Reese Mercer who is returning to the program was delighted to comment and to be able to race with all her friends on this cold but amazing day.

    “The team did really good,” said Mercer we all had a great meet and will continue to do so as long as we all work as a team,”

    Sophomore Hannah Benes, a young talent on this years team had quite the day. She put up impressive numbers and has improved from recent years. She was excited to put in a few words for her star teammates and coaches.

    “We all had so much energy,” said Benes. “ Everyone was psyched to race and just to be all around each other.”

    Everyone on the team had a great night and the most fun they would have imagined. Runners were cheering for runners and throwers were cheering for throwers. It was only the first meet, but a very successful one. Everyone can’t wait to carry on their greatness and to improve  every practice and meet.
