The Perfect Fall Colors

The Do’s and Don’ts of Fall Fashion.

Although colors and outfit choices are not limited to certain times of the year, some particular seasons stand out more than others. The perfect fall outfit should include the fall color basics: maroon, rose and orange. However, this year’s hottest fall colors may come as a surprise. The trending fall colors this year are olive green, gray-blue and teal.

Flannels are the best way to layer up on top of a simple shirt. Whether wearing a light or dark color, flannels are a simple and inexpensive way to keep up with the fall fashion. Another great fashion item to add are cargo jackets. A cargo jacket is perfect for layering or simply wearing all by itself. The jacket is very versatile and is a must-have fall accessory.

With the fall must-do’s also come many do-not’s. Light vibrant colors are not recommended to be worn by themselves; but one can layer with a flannel or cargo jacket. Sophomore Lily Highley agrees with the popular colors used in fall fashion.

“You should wear dark and warm colors,” Highley said. “[Those] look nice for fall.”

Floral patterns are also a big do-not for fall, but one can replace the flowers with a comfortable flannel. Layering patterns is also a big fall do-not. Wearing multiple patterns at once not only looks shapeless, but also takes the focal point off of the main subject and directs it to the patterns themselves.
