A horror movie becoming a reality would play a frightening role in our society, but if it helped the country, would it be worth it? “The Purge” and “The Purge Anarchy” became the interest of a lot of young adult audiences around the nation. “The Purge” is based of the plot of a 24-hour time period where everything, even crime, is legal.

“I think that ‘The Purge; is a bad idea. ‘The Purge’ is not going to help our society because then people are going to be afraid to talk to anyone because anyone can kill anybody whenever they wanted. If ‘The Purge’ happened, I would probably hide or try to stay on everyone’s good side until it was over,” said junior Tyler Glassman.

“The Purge” gave people a new idea about bringing that movie into reality, maybe not a very good idea, but people considered it. Rumors went around Illinois, particularly on Facebook, that there would be a “purge” in Louisville, Illinois after “The Purge: Anarchy” first premiered on July 18, 2014, but it was soon proven to be a false statement.

“I would never participate in ‘The Purge,’ but I think it would reduce the percent of murders and crimes since it is only one day. If it ever happened I would hide out and eat food,”  said junior Haley Baum.

The feelings on “The Purge” is that it would get rid of crime rates year-round, but some think that it would also cause mass destruction and chaos.

“Only when their blood is shed, we will see change.”
