The Sequoits ruined another homecoming football game, first beating Wauconda 35-14 and then Grant 42-0. This now puts the Sequoits at 4-0 for the season and 2-0 in conference play.

Within minutes of the first quarter, the Sequoits scored their first touchdown of the game and the defense quickly put a stop to the Grant offense right after. Both the Sequoits offense and defense outperformed the Bulldogs. The Sequoits were able to work on different plays along with letting new players get minutes due to the team’s outstanding performance and unfortunate injuries.

Senior Drew Porter scored three touchdowns as fullback when he filled in for senior Hunter Price who is out with a broken thumb.

Senior Javen London has an interesting outlook on the rest of the season.

“We have a target on our backs, we’re the team to beat in this conference,” London said. “To us we’re the hunters, every team we play has a target on their back and we’re coming for them.”

The next Sequoit football game is the homecoming game against Grayslake Central on September 22 at 7:15pm.
