As summer is coming to a close, the season’s hits are starting to become overplayed. It is time for new songs to grab the attention of the public. Here are some new albums by notable artists:

John Mayer’s sixth studio album Paradise Valley was released on August 20. This album from Mayer is mature, country-inflected, and easygoing, with many harmonized hooks and a duet with his pop star girlfriend, Katy Perry. Paradise Valley sounds similar to a mix of Mayer’s previous albums Continuum, Heavier Things, and Born & Raised. Mayer’s music is becoming more country than his original rock sound.

While Vampire Weekend’s most recent album “Modern Vampires of the City” was released on May 13 2013, it is still topping the charts.

This fall, many anticipated albums will be released. From Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2” on Sept. 30, to Pearl Jam on Oct. 15, to Lady Gaga on Nov. 11.
