As summer is coming to a close, the season’s hits are starting to become overplayed. It is time for new songs to grab the attention of the public. Here are some new albums by notable artists:

John Mayer’s sixth studio album Paradise Valley was released on August 20. This album from Mayer is mature, country-inflected, and easygoing, with many harmonized hooks and a duet with his pop star girlfriend, Katy Perry. Paradise Valley sounds similar to a mix of Mayer’s previous albums Continuum, Heavier Things, and Born & Raised. Mayer’s music is becoming more country than his original rock sound.
