The Antioch Sequoits’ field hockey team started their season off strong with a victory on Tuesday, Aug. 27th. They defeated Homewood-Flossmoor 2-0 at Homewood-Flossmoor.
Seniors Alex Hare and Chelsea Hopkins scored with assists from seniors Paige Gallimore and Alyssa Dragin. Junior Carly McCameron also had great passes that led to many great scoring opportunities.
Junior defenseman Natalie Summerfelt said, “I believe that we worked well together with the communication that was used by passing and taking the ball up the field.”
Junior right forward Shannon Zogran is excited about the outcome of the start of the season.
“We knew where everyone was and who we could pass to, which really helped us work as a team,” said Zogran. “It’s a great way to start our season, but there’s always room for improvement.”
