Junior Karly Monaco has played soccer since the age of four. At that time, she had no idea that soccer would be a sport that she would become so passionate about and very successful playing. Since Monaco started the sport so young, every year as she got older, she fell more in love with the game. After all these years of playing soccer; Monaco knew she could never stop.

“My favorite part of soccer is just the game itself, it helps me forget about any negative things going on and it relieves any stress that I have,” Monaco said.

Monaco made the Varsity soccer team as a freshman but suffered a knee injury. She did not let that stop her and continued to play through her injury. She is very dedicated to the game of soccer and plays year round. When there is not soccer, she is always at the open gyms, working to improve her game. Monaco worked very hard last season and achieved a lot as a sophomore.

“My biggest accomplishment was winning all conference as a sophomore, I was beyond happy” Monaco said.

Monaco has high hopes for this season. With very supportive and talented teammates around her, she hopes to have a positive and successful season. Monaco hopes to continue her soccer career in college and perhaps become a soccer coach later on in her life.

“My passion towards the game is hard to explain; I love soccer. It keeps me so energized, I just need to play soccer” said Monaco.
