The Sequoit volleyball team received a heartbreaking loss to the Grant Bulldogs on April 20 after three hard fought games. The boys started strong winning their first game easily, keeping the bulldogs to only ten points. After this however, senior Will Smithson hurt his knee and could not return to the game. This took out one of the Sequoits star players; the boys put up a fight, but did not win the next two games.

Senior and Varsity volleyball member Jordan Hart thinks that even though they lost, some players stepped up and played well despite their teammates injury.

Joseph Whittall stepped into a position he wasn’t use to due to an injury, and he played really well,” Hart said.

Hart believes the team did not play to the best of their ability.

“We played badly because we didn’t do our individual jobs,” Hart said.

According to the team, despite the loss, they are still looking forward to the rest of the season and winning games.
