The Antioch girls volleyball team suffered a rough lose against Highland Park High School on August 31st. Going into the game, many of the girls were excited and ready to play against a team who was tough competition last year.

“We are confident, they were a strong team last year but we are really looking forward to play against them today,” senior Katherine Barr said. “I think they are going to be a good team because they were a good team last year so it should be a fun match.”

After warming up and preparing for the game, the morale of the team was high. The girls took the court ready to compete to the best of their ability and to try and seize another win for the team.

“We work as a team, we win as a team,” Barr said. “The most important thing is that we work together because that is when we thrive the most.”

At the end of the game, the Sequoits only managed to take the second of three sets, ultimately leading to their defeat against the Giants. The girls now put this match behind them and move onto their next away game on September 7th against the Wauconda Bulldogs.
