Saturday, September 9 the Antioch varsity girls volleyball team competed in a tournament at Jefferson High School, located in Rockford. They had a long morning ahead of them with 5 games in total. In the end, the girls brought home 3 wins and 2 losses.

“A few of the girls were getting over illnesses and fighting it, so that might’ve had an impact on the games,” senior Kennedy Moll said.

Despite some of the team being sick, the girls played through some tough matches and still kept their heads up.

“I think if we can continue to work hard in practice and improve our skills as an individual and as a team, we will have a successful season,” Moll said.

The team has faced a tough season so far. In conference they are 0-1 but overall they are 7-4, counting tournaments.

Watch the girls as they continue to take on this season with their heads held high. The team will be moving onto their next away game on September 11 against the Zion-Benton Zee Bees.
