College representatives from various universities talked to students and parents during College Planning Night.

Antioch Community High School hosts college planning night on Wednesday, September 28 for students and their parents to learn more information about specific colleges, tips for applying and other information regarding college in general. Break-out sessions were offered addressing scholarships, process for playing college sports, college application process, and financial aid.

“Attending college planning night with my parents opened our eyes to the process of committing and beginning my college journey,” Senior Alexandra Comer said. “Being the oldest in my family, this is a new adventure for both my parents and I, and attending this event answered a lot of valuable questions both my parents and I had, and as a family we feel a lot more comfortable and familiar.”

This night is open to anyone interested in learning more about college. Although the event is largely attended by Juniors and Seniors, all ages are welcomed to get a head start on understanding college and how to go about applying.

“I went because I had no idea how to even approach the issue of college and I learned a lot of things that I wouldn’t have even guessed were apart of applying,” Sophomore Natalie Hill said.

For most college can be an overwhelming and confusing topic, the ACHS college planning night is there to help clear that up point students in the right direction.
