On Thursday, September 28, the Sequoit varsity football team faced off against the Round Lake Panthers. So far the season for the Sequoits has been going great with them having a record of 6-0.

The Sequoit coaches are beyond proud that the team has been stepping it up the last few years. The team is doing even better than they did last year. Their closest game this season was against Woodstock North where they ended up winning 15-14.

During the game, Antioch was the first to score during the 2nd quarter but during the 3rd quarter, the Sequoits really stepped it up a notch and scored touchdown after touchdown, escalating their lead.

“Varsity is getting better physically and mentally each game we play, but we’re always learning,” sophomore Elkanah Gahima said.

Senior Hunter Price, who scored two touchdowns, along with senior Javen London and senior Drew Porter continuously impressed the coaches. The team hopes to keep their record clean and get into the playoffs.

The Sequoits were able to take another win with a final score of 28-0. The team showed true teamwork allowing them to win their game against the Panthers.
