Chicago Bulls Trade Powerful Players

The Chicago Bulls finished off the first half of their season on a high note, as they were victorious over both the Raptors and the Celtics. Jimmy Butler, coming off a heel injury, has proven that he is more than capable of high level play as he scored 29 points against the Celtics. Butler was apart of many trade rumors going on before the deadline, but ultimately stayed with the team.

On the other hand, shooting guard Doug McDermott and power forward Taj Gibson were traded just before the trade deadline. The two went to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Bulls received Cameron Payne, Joffrey Lauvergne, Anthony Morrow and a future 2018 second round draft pick. Many Bulls fans are surprised by the trades, especially the leaving of Taj Gibson who spent his last eight years in Chicago. Although it’s difficult to say whether or not the new players for the Bulls will pan out, the team seeks new ways to win games when it counts. Sophomore Kyle Jilly shares his thoughts on the Bulls’ trades.

“In my opinion, the Bulls are selling out so to speak, because they are trading two potential starters for three reserves,” Jilly said.
