D34 Announces Interim Superintendents

Husband and wife team from Grayslake and Salt Creek School Districts to assume post through end of school year.
D34 Announces Interim Superintendents

Effective this Wednesday, Ellen Correll and John Correll will serve jointly as the interim superintendent of Antioch Consolidated School District 34.

E. Correll recently retired from being Grayslake as District 46’s Superintendent; J. Correll also retired last June from Salt Creek School District 48.

In a press release, the board also wanted to “give a heartfelt thanks to the District 117 School Board and Dr. Jim McKay, Superintendent of D117 Schools.” The board believes his help has been “invaluable these past few weeks.”

The District 34 School Board is already in full search for a new superintendent. They will host a Superintendent Community Forum on Saturday, January 11 for the community to meet the final candidates. If a community member is interested in participating, they are encouraged to email [email protected] or [email protected]; RSVP is encouraged by January 8.

McKay served in the interim capacity since the District 34 board approved his leadership on November 19 and the District 117 Board approved his joint-appointment on November 20.
