The famous pop star, Billie Eilish is often heard as being overrated and not worth the hype but she has won many awards in the past. Eilish has won 5 grammy’s already in 2020, including record of the year and best new artist. At the age of 18, Eilish is known to be the youngest artist nominated in the four categories within same year.
According to Popsugar Entertainment, Eilish wrote her first song with her brother called “Ocean Eyes”, and released the song when she was only 14. By 2017, she started releasing several songs and eventually lead to her first album being released in March of 2019.
Eilish recently turned eighteen and her newest album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” is the second biggest selling album of 2019. She won many awards from her past album.
“I do think Billie Eilish is worth the hype, especially at such a young age,” junior Isabella Demartini said. “She has already accomplished so much including social media, the grammy’s, released an album, etc.”
Although Eilish is known to be the biggest new pop star on the planet, not everyone feels the same about her and her music.
“I think Billie Eilish definitely deserves credit for who she has become but doesn’t deserve all the hype,” senior Lily Highley said. “I also feel that there are so many other singers that work just as hard to produce good music and don’t get much in return.
Although Billie Eilish gets a lot of credit for her hard work, there are many other pop stars in the world that work just as hard. Eilish is known to be one of the more new singers who is so talented at such a young age.
