Girls Varsity golf faced Grayslake North for their second match of the season, winning with 228 points to Grayslake’s 260 points. Not only did the Sequoits overcome Grayslake, but also the weather conditions from the rain earlier in the day. One player who did not let the weather affect her was junior Taylor Comer.

“There were puddles and muddy patches which is expected after rain, but the fairway was basically dry,” Comer said. “It was kind of windy when you got closer to the holes with water so you kind of had to take (the) wind into account.”

While the weather definitely had a toll, players such as Comer overcame it and played a major role in the victory.

“Just relaxing and focusing during your swings and having fun,” Comer said. “It’s a lot easier to perform better when you think of it as a game instead of a competition.”

According to Comer, if the team keeps up the hard work they are in for a season they will never forget.
