The Kansas City Royals looked for revenge this season after losing in Game Seven of the World Series one year ago. In the beginning of game one, shortstop Alcides Escobar led off the Royals with an inside the park home-run. The New York Mets looked to seal the victory leading four to three in the bottom of the ninth inning. Alex Gordon, left fielder for the Royals, hit the game tying home-run to send the game into extra innings. The Royals then went on to win in the bottom of the 14th inning, taking a one to zero series lead.

In Game Two of the World Series, the Royals went down early zero to one. The Royals quickly responded an inning later scoring 4 runs. They then never looked back. They scored three more runs in the eighth inning blowing out the Mets seven to one. Royals pitcher Johnny Cueto was dominant going the complete game only allowing two hits.

Senior baseball player Fletcher Neville said, “I think the Royals are going to have a tough time closing out the series but they’ll get the job done.”

Senior baseball player Derek Snellman thinks that Kansas City will win the series in 5 games.

Though the Royals are up two games, the Mets will have a home field advantage for the next three games, having the perfect opportunity to mount a comeback. Best of luck to both teams as they look to become the best in the world.
