Walking into their first conference game, the Sequoit girls volleyball team was determined to end the night with a win over the Bulldogs.

After a well fought win against Zion-Benton, Antioch went back to work for two days to prepare for Grant. The Sequoits worked hard and were confident that the game was theirs for the taking, because they knew they wanted to win the game more than the Bulldogs.

“We were all super determined to beat Grant. It was our first conference game at home and we wanted to win,” junior Grace Weber said.

After winning the first set 25-15, the Sequoits hopes were high. With a high energy game, Antioch was able to grab a win in the second set as well, securing themselves a win over the Bulldogs.

“The entire team did amazing. Nobody had the chance to stand out because this was the best game that everyone had played in this entire year,” Weber said.

After a tough battle ending in a win for the Sequoits, joy was in the air, and the team ended the night with the “I believe” chant.
