The team celebrates after receiving another point.

After two hard-fought games against Grant, the Sequoit volleyball team headed to Cary Grove to try and dominate their opponents. The Sequoits were nervous but started out pretty good, however, they ended up being down throughout most of the game. Featured athlete and junior Ayanna Tommy had a great game and battled for every ball. Cary Grove offense was no match for the “middles” of Antioch.

“I feel like as a team we all just need to work together because that is our detriment right now but can easily be fixed,” Tommy said.

The team continued to fight back even after the first game where Cary Groves offense wore the defense down. The Sequoits determination made the second game pretty close but with a few miss communications and missed hits, Cary Grove ended up pulling through with the win.

“To get ready for our next game, all we can do is push ourselves in our practice,” Tommy said.

For their next game, the Sequoits will head to Harvest Christian Academy Invitational. Be sure to support the team as they try to get another win for the school, themselves and each other.
