Senior Drew Porter falls to his knees to catch a pass in Friday night’s game against Woodstock North.

Last Friday the Antioch Sequoits played against a very aggressive opponent and pulled off a miracle win against Woodstock North.

During the first half the Sequoits struggled to tame Woodstock North’s offense as they were able to score two touchdowns in the first two quarters, ultimately putting the Sequoits behind for most of the game.

“During the first half the team wasn’t trying their best; they didn’t pick up the pace until about halfway through the game,” coach Brian Glashagel said, ”They did fantastic in the second half; I was very impressed with the comeback they made.”

Senior quarterback Branden Gallimore made play after play during the second half and helped the team pick it up during the last quarter. The Sequoits are starting off 2-0 and hope to keep it that way the rest of the season.

“Can’t complain about starting off 2-0,” Glashagel said. “Getting a victory in football is always a great accomplishment especially when you make a huge comeback like that.”

The Sequoits struggled in the first half but really put the pedal to the metal in the second half and were able to hold back the opposing team and pull off the win.
