The varsity lacrosse team started the season off with a home game against Crystal Lake South High School on Tuesday, March 19. With this being the first season that Antioch has had their own lacrosse team, it was nerve-racking for the players on the field.

“I was nervous since it was our first game and the adrenaline was pumping,” senior Cole Niemi said.

With constant battling, the offensive plays like setting picks and dodging, the Sequoits were able to rally up the points, ending the half up 2-0. As the second half went on, the Sequoits never gave up even after the Gators scored a point.

“I’m very proud of my teammates and I’m excited to see what the rest of the season has for us,” junior Nicholas Bucci said.

The Sequoits continually battled the Gators and ended the game winning 4-1 and started this season off with a win. With a win now under their belts, they are ready to push through the rest of their season searching for victories.
