Cheer is a sport all about impressing judges with the team’s looks and moves. Even if the cheerleaders are cheering for another sporting event, their goal is to hit their choreography perfectly and impress their audiences. A very important piece of cheer fashion that can really attract the attention of the audience are the cheer bows.

A team’s cheer bow is symbolic of their persona, character and originality. There are many different kinds of bows that are subtly different but have an entirely different meaning.

“I think our cheer bows symbolize our energy and passion for cheering,” junior Ella Maggio said.

Some most popular formats currently in demand are Rock Star, Mystic, Glitz, Star Bows, Dots Bows, Rhinestone Bows, Doll Bows and Pigtail Sets. The meanings behind the styles and attachments of the bows are decided by the cheerleader and the viewer, but that does not mean that there is not a primary feeling represented with a certain bow. How you represent the bow means more than the style and fashion of the bow itself.
