Stepping Into 2016 with Style

Making a comeback, these remarkable shoes are back and better than ever with even more styles.

A new year comes with new fashion and popular trends. It seems as though the biggest accessory for the year are shoes. A few in particular stand out in the hallways of Antioch Community High School.

1.Timberland

Since 1973 when the Swartz family created the brand name Timberland, the Timberland company has made milestones and continue to be among the most popular shoe brands. Timberland is an American manufacturer and retailer that sells outdoor wear, but focuses mainly on footwear. Timberland boots go with almost every outfit and are extremely comfortable.

“They are not like normal work boots, they are actually really comfy, they are good for cold/snow and can still be cute,” senior Teah Mulcahy said. “They may seem a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.”

2.Air Force 1’s

“Air in a box,” was Nike’s campaign slogan when Air Force 1’s were released in 1982. Air Force 1’s started off as the first basketball shoe with an air filled pocket for cushion and support. In 1986 the Air Force 1’s came back because the fans demanded it.

“My Air Force 1’s are pure white shoes that are sleek yet have a cool street look with a mid top strap that I absolutely love,” senior Mckenzie Scott said.

Now they are considered as one of the most fashionable and popular gym shoes among teens. There are nearly 2,000 versions of Air Force 1’s and that number continues to grow.

3.Hunter Boots

Today Hunter boots are still created from the original design and made with the same 28 parts as they were in 1956 when they were created. These stylish boots are made for almost any weather and are very durable. They are easy to clean and to take care of, and will last a lifetime.

“My hunter boots are fashionable and really warm,” senior Jatiyah Childs said. “They are good for rainy weather and perfect for fall and winter outfits.”

Cute and simple, Hunter boots continue to be a reliable shoe for every owner.
