The girls varsity basketball team looked to improve on their five game win streak and to finish conference undefeated as they played Grant for their last conference game. The girls will play in the NSC Championship game for the second year in a row, but first they had to take care of business against conference rival Grant.

The Sequoits, who beat the Bulldogs earlier in the season at Grant, looked to continue their perfect record at home for their senior night.

To say the game was exciting would be an understatement. The girls played their hearts out and it ended up paying off as they beat the bulldogs in double overtime.

“It feels awesome to be honored by not only my team on senior night, but everyone else that was there as well,” senior Alexis Duehr said.

She also said that this game was the craziest she had ever been apart of in her career.

“This game did not really mean much as far as regionals go,” Junior Ashley Reiser said, “but it gives us the confidence that we can play in a high pressure situations and come out with a win.”
