The varsity Sequoits looked to continue their winning season with a huge victory over rival Lakes. The Lakes Eagles wrestling team came to Antioch to wrestle along with Harvard.

Every wrestler has to deal with cutting weight a different way. It is one huge factor that makes wrestling the tough sport it is. It affects the energy level of each athlete making them exhausted physically and mentally.

The sequoits looked to continue the season with two more wins. They ended up beating the Lakes Eagles as a team, but losing to Harvard. Sophomore Rj Vasquez said, “Wrestling against Lakes really got the team pumped and ready for whatever is coming our way. It is always good to beat your rival school.”

The team has about 6 weeks left in the regular season and some are looking to what the postseason has to bring. Sophomore Angelo Passarelli said, “I think we are right on track, but we are still growing hard everyday to become better. I don’t try to think about the postseason, I just focus on what i can improve daily.”
