The Antioch field hockey team took on Deerfield on Thursday, September 29, the Sequoits fought hard against Deerfield the team ended up losing 0-2.

Junior Jenna Barton, is member of the Varsity field hockey team.

“I think our team performed well,” Barton said. “We held our own and played better as the game went on in the second half. I believe the reason we ended up losing 0-2 was because there was some things we could have done better, there was a lack of communication and passing.”

Barton believes communication is the key to their game, and if they do that well their next game their performance will improve.

“My team can learn how communicate can really change a game,” Barton said. “By our next game we can be more confident with our skills and show them.”

Although the Sequoits may have lost they still performed well. Barton believes freshman Mikayla Holway had an impressive game.

“Mikayla Holway did extremely well,” Barton said. “She gave it all her all, all the way into the end. She even gave us a corner as the last play.”

The Sequoits continue to improve as the season progresses, and according to Barton they will keep getting better.

I think our season so far is really well,” Barton said. “We’ve improved so much and it will just get better from here.”
