How To: Churro Waffles

Everyday breakfast items such as waffles can be easily changed to switch up the current taste.

Breakfast for dinner is a popular meal in the United States. Many people have had waffles for breakfast and it is common for people have had churros for a snack or dessert. Taking that into consideration, combining the two creates a snack for anyone to enjoy. Breakfast, dessert, or any time of the day churro waffles can be enjoyed. These waffles provide for the perfect waffle taste with a touch of cinnamon and sugar.

Ingredients 

  • One teaspoon of salt
  • Four teaspoons of baking powder
  • Two tablespoons of sugar
  • Two eggs
  • Two cups of flour
  • One and a half cups of warm milk
  • One-third cups of butter; melted
  • One teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Three shakes of ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together two cups of flour, one teaspoon of salt, four teaspoons of baking powder and sugar; set aside. 
  2. Preheat waffle iron to 350 degrees.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the two eggs. Stir in one and a half cups of warm milk, one-third cups of melted butter and one teaspoon of vanilla. 
  4. Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture.
  5. Next fold in three shakes of cinnamon. Beat with a whisk until fully combined.
  6. Melt the butter that will be spread over the waffles. 
  7. Generously spray the waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray. Ladle the batter into a preheated waffle iron. Cook the waffles until golden and crisp. Once fully cooked, immediately spread melted butter on each side of the waffle and then spread butter on the waffles and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar

These waffles can be served immediately after baking, topping with syrup if desired. When enjoying these waffles for dessert one can top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and enjoy its warm and cold complexion.
