Lolla Lineup Officially Released

Annual concert features big-names, sells out quickly.

Last week, Lollapalooza announced the 170 bands and artists performing at this year’s festival July 28 to 30. The 25th anniversary includes a wide variety of artists playing over the course of four days. Four-day passes and single-day tickets also went on sale.

Major names will be headlining, such as Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, LCD Soundsystem and J.Cole. Many of these famous names are no stranger to the city’s festival. Radiohead is making its exciting return to Lolla once again after last performing in 2008, as well as Red Hot Chili Peppers who first took the stage in 1992. Other big names who will attend the festival include Lana Del Rey, Future, Ellie Goulding, G-Eazy, The 1975 and Disclosure. Another addition to the lineup is the band Jane’s Addiction, whose lead singer Perry Farrell, was the artist who created the first Lollapalooza festival in 1991. Smaller names that made the list were Bloc Party, Local Natives, Daughter, City and Colour, Mac Miller and Two Door Cinema Club.

“Although it’s expensive, it’s worth the experience,” senior Matt Farrell said. “The atmosphere is always positive, and it’s convenient that Chicago is so close.”

Tickets sold rapidly and people had to be on the website the minute tickets went on sale in order to ensure a spot. Within 90 minutes, all 1 day passes sold out.
