Michael Bloomberg Will Not Be Entering The Presidential Race

Former New York City mayor kills rumors that he would run as an independent.

As of Monday, March 7, independent politician Michael Bloomberg announced to the public he will not be entering the presidential race. Bloomberg stated he fears that his participation in a three-way race would lead to the election of Republican candidate Donald Trump, whom Bloomberg thinks will endanger the country.

Bloomberg claims he was worried by Trump’s threats to bar certain ethnicities from entering the United States and saying he would initiate trade wars against nations such as Japan and China. Bloomberg stated he felt such actions would cause more harm than good.

Due to Trump’s major lead in the Republican primary, Bloomberg said he believed he would be able to win a number of diverse states. However, he did not think he would be able to win enough electoral votes to win the presidency.
