Antioch’s JV field hockey team has their last game on October 13, and down on the field for her final game of the season will be No. 22: freshman Allison Beckman.

This field hockey season was Beckman’s first. She explained that field hockey looked like fun, especially since she enjoys playing any form of hockey. When Beckman started at Antioch, her and her friends decided to try it.

Freshman Isabella Reid is a good friend and teammate of Beckman. Reid described Beckman as an outgoing and unique person and said Beckman brings a lot to their team.

“She is really motivated,” Reid said. “She really goes out there to make us better and just have fun.”

Reid explained that Beckman has a lot of positive energy that she brings to the team. She is a motivator and keeps everyone working at all times. If there was a JV captain, Reid believes that Beckman would be one.

What Beckman said she enjoys most about the sport is how close her and her teammates are.

“Our team is really close,” Beckman said. “I like how we work things out together when there’s a problem.”

Even though the JV team may have a losing record this season, Beckman still believes that her team did well this season, especially when it comes to keeping up with Varsity.

Beckman said that her goals for her high school career are beating the past records of the JV and Varsity teams. She thoroughly enjoyed her first year of field hockey and plans on playing again her next three years.
