Sequoits Fight Hard Against the Knights

The Sequoit wrestling team traveled to Grayslake North on January 25 and successfully won their match.

The Sequoit wrestlers traveled to Grayslake North on January 25 to go against the Knights in a match.

The boys came out hot and the coaches were very involved with their athletes. The atmosphere in the gym was exciting and intense from the parents, athletes and coaches.

“I think we wrestled good, we can work to wrestle more aggressive and work for falls,” varsity wrestler junior Mikey Volkmar said.

Throughout the match, the Sequoits were up 18-3, however the Knights fought back and made the score 18-15, still in favor of Antioch.

Sophomores Luke Menzies and Alexander Barbarise came out with pins against the Knights throughout the match. The wrestlers fought hard with some wins and some losses but overall the team did what they had to do in order to win the match against the Knights.

The Sequoits ended up winning the match 48-21.
